My On-Going KM Journey in Asia
KM is about networking, knowledge sharing and mutual learning. I greatly enjoy and learn when I travel and so I would like to share with you my on-going KM journey in Asia. My next travel will be to Jakarta in early December 2009, Beijing in mid-December 2009 and Bangkok in January 2010. 1- Seoul, Korea, March 2003: presented a paper in a study meeting on Learning Organizations
2- Ulaanbaator, Mongolia, July 2006: designed, wrote and facilitated a KM training workshop for corporate executives.
3- New Delhi, India, February 2008: served as Rapporteur and Editor of proceedings of the 2nd International Conference on Technology and Innovation for Knowledge Management; July 2009: evaluated impact of a training course on reduction of greenhouse gas emissions; November 2009: stakeholder knowledge demand survey for UNISDR
4- Chennai, India, February 2008: designed, wrote and facilitated a KM training workshop for government and corporate managers, sponsored by the Ambedkar Institute for Productivity; July 2009: evaluated a training course for productivity specialists
5- Bangkok, Thailand, August 2006: led a planning meeting on Asia-wide KM case studies; January 2007: served as Rapporteur and editor of proceedings of International Productivity Conference 2007, Knowledge Management – from Brain to Business; June-July, 2007: provided KM assistance for ILO Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific; September 2009: KM training for UNISDR; October 2009: Keynote speaker for the International Conference on Knowledge Management in Agricultural Biotechnology: The Asian Experience
6- Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, September 2007: facilitator and resource person in training for KM consulting; July 2008: invited speaker in Conference on Innovation in Managing Knowledge for the Competitive Edge, spoke on “Some Stories about How Personality and Culture Come into Our Knowledge Management Practice”
7- Hong Kong, China, December 2008: read paper on “Service Innovation: Some Philippine Trends and Experiences” at The 10th Asia Pacific Knowledge Management Conference; December 2009: organizing committee member, track chair and co-author of a paper on “An Expanded Intellectual Capital Framework for Evaluating Social Enterprise Innovations” at the 6th International KM Conference
8- Beijing, China, August 2009: invited speaker at World Intellectual Capital Summit, my topic was “Defining Value for the Social Development Sector:The Role of Intellectual Capital”; December 2009: invited speaker at First Global Consumption Capital Summit, on the topic “Exploring Variants in Consumer Stock Ownership Plans.”
9- Singapore, March 2008: read paper in conference on Knowledge Architectures for Development; April 2009: read paper on “Corporate Social Responsibility and Emergent Models in Management of Stakeholder Capital in Philippine Conglomerates” at 5th International Research Workshop on Asian Business
10- Jakarta, Indonesia, August 2007: invited speaker at 2007 Indonesian Knowledge Management Conference, spoke on “Best KM Practices in Asia” and co-facilitator in a KM workshop; July 2009: evaluated impact of training in green productivity; Sukabumi, Central Java, July 2009: evaluated impact of 5S/kaizen training in a manufacturing company; November 2009: stakeholder knowledge demand survey for UNISDR; lecture for the KM Society of Indonesia
